Amount of sprint races to double from three to six for F1 2023 season

A World Motor Sport Council vote on Tuesday went in favour of the proposal to double the amount of sprint races from three to six for F1 2023.

It was reported at the time t🤪hat the FIA had asked for more money in return for its support.
Following further discussions with the FIA and the recognition of the added value of the sprint events for fans, partnersꦓ and wider stakeholders, an agreement has now been reached and passed by the WMSC vote.
The venues for the six spri♍nt events are set to be confirmed ꦗat a later date.

The experimental f🔴ormat was first introduced at three races in 2021.
