Walker marks BSB return with points

Chris Walker was able to recover from an early setback to score decent points on his ViSK.com British Superbike Cꦫhampionship debut at Brands Hatc꧂h.

After a season on the World Superbike and Supersport stage, Walker returned to BSB action this weekend aboard the Henderson/Motorpoint Yamahꦕa prepare♔d by Rob Mac Racing.

Qualifying inside the top te💜n in ninth, Walker's first race was spoiled by a mistake in the early stages that sent him across the grass and leave him back in last position. Nonetheless, he slowly worked his way back into contention to snatch two points with a 14th place finish.

Race two proved more successful for Walker when he finished eighth after finishing amidst a race-long battle with fellow Yamaha rid♑er James Ellison and Gary Mason.

"I tried to go up the inside of Camier and I ended up doing a bit of grass tracking - I was a bit luck to stay on," he told mahbx.com Radio. "So to come through from dea𒉰d last to score points was a bonus after su🍸ch a daft mistake early on.

"In race two I got a good start, but we were just two or three tenths off the guys in front and they gradually pulled away. We just have to work on finding some time in mys🀅elf and the bike to find our job a bit easier."

Admitting the two races were 'quite hard work', Walker is hoping an upcoming💙 test at Donington Park will help them challenge further towards the front of the field at Oulton Park.

"It was ✱quite hard work," he added. "We need to find some grip. There is no hiding at Brands - if there is one corner you are struggling on, then that is two tenths and that is all you need to be off here. We have a test in two weeks time and hopefully we can find a bit of pace there."
