Mirror.co.uk Cup competitor Mason put in one of the performances of the weekend 💞around the Kent circuit with a run to sixth and ninth in the races, while he was a persistent threat at the front of the field 🌜throughout practice too.
H🏅owever, his race results were done without the World Superbike specification motor he had acquired for his Quay Garage Honda af🐈ter it expired during practice.
Having an effect on his qualifying performance, although Mason fought valiantly to decimate hi🧔s Cup competitors and secure an overall top six finish, he is desperate to get t🐼he money together to repair the motor and potentially go even quicker.
"Practice went really well from day one and we knew we had the pace but then we had a real disaster when the World Superbike spec motor blew up," he told the official BSB website. "That really gave me a sleepless night on Friday as we had to go back to last year's motor and that has 15 - 20 less bhp.
"I didn't qualify as well as I wanted to and I was a bit frustrated as I knew it could have been better but the three-stage knoc🔯kout didn't work well for us this time, but practice makes perfect.
"A sixth and a ninth I was really happy with and to be battꦯling with the front runners was really good for the whole team and I expeꦑct the same at Oulton Park. We just need some extra cash to get the WSB motor fixed so we can run that next time out.
"Between now𒀰 and Oulton Park my crew chief Brad is busy working away on the bike and I am doing anything I can to earn some more money so I can go racing! We are hoping a few people might get behind us with sponsorship so we can geꦗt that WSB motor going again."
