Snetterton BSB: Brookes felt victory was within his grasp

Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes feels he was knocked out of his rhyth𒅌m and denied the chance to challenge for a victory at Snetterton.
Brookes, who travels to Japan today for testing aheadꩵ of the legendary Suzuka 8-Hour race at the end of July, twice finished on the rostrum in second and third places.
However, the Aussie reckons🌞 an opportunity went begging to claim the top step 𝐆of the rostrum yesterday.
"I did feel I was ab🌱le to have a go🍬 at the wins in both races, but the Safety Car coming out seems to upset my rhythm at times and in the second race I made a bit of a mistake when the win was possibly within my grasp," said Brookes.
"ꦇI'm now looking forward to testing at Suzuka this week before the 8-Hour at the end of the month, but as soon as I get back my focus will be bac🦹k to Brands Hatch where we need to get as many podium credits as possible and close the gap on 'Shakey' [Shane Byrne] and Alex [Lowes]."
Brookes is third in the championship ♍standings on 172 points behind Lowes (175) and Shane Byrne (207).
