Red Piranha Racing rider Simon Andrews has continued his run of strong finishes taking fifth place a🍸t Mondello Park allowing him to further strengthen his grip on third place in the Supersport championship.

Consistency has been the key for Andrews and the Red Piranha team all season. He is now one of on🌺ly two riders to have scored points at every outing.

Weather played a big part in Saturday qualifying. A heavy shower very early in the first session meant Andrews only got two la💃ps in before the track was awash ဣleaving him in an uncharacteristic 13th position.

In the afternoon, rain effectively ended the second qualifying mid-way through just as Andrews wa💃s putting in his quickest lap of the day seeing him eventually qualify on the second row of🌸 the grid.

"The weather spoiled both our qual♎ifying sessions so we were a little lucky to line up on the second row of the grid," Andrew𒁃s reported.

"I got off to a fairly good start in the race and quickly settled into a rhythm," he added. "It ended up being fairly lonely out there with a bit of a gap in front and behind me but the💛 main thing was to pick up 🍸as many points as possible. I'm now looking forward to a return trip to Oulton Park where I got my last podium."

Despite the 'quiet' race, team manager Pete Jennings was more than happy with the result and✱ felt that the 🍌Mondello Park event was a huge success.

"It's been great to come over to Mondello. The organizers have gone out of their way to do e⛎verything for us and the huge crowds have been wildly enthusiastic," he stated. "Qualifying didn't exactly go as planned but Simon kept his head down and picked up his third fifth place finish in a row. We always knew scoring well at💜 every round would put us up there and we're very pleased with how everything is progressing."
