Andrew Irwin will step-in for the injured Shane Byrne and join brother Glenn in the Be Wiser Ducati squad st⛄arting with round four of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Snetterton this weekend.

Reigning BSB champion Byrne is currently out due to serious injuries sustained at the official test at Snetterton last month. Byrne has left hospital and has started his extensive recovery process from his numerous injuries which include multiple neck fracturꩲes, a broken septum and broken ribs.

PBM Dꦿucati team owner Paul Bird has called on the 23-year-old Andew Irwin, who currently competes for the CIA Landlords Insurance Honda squꦛad in the World Supersport championship, and has won British Supersport level.

Both PBM riders are testing at Knockhill today before the Snetterton round ཧthis weekend꧂.

“To be given an opportunity with one of the best teams in the paddock is amazing and I can’t thank everyone at PBM and Be Wiser Ducati enough🎉,” Irwin said. “This is going to be a very steep learning curve but one which doesn’t daunt💎 me, as I know with everyone’s help it will be made a lot easier, and who better to have on the other side of the garage than my big brother

“I’ll give it my all and hope the results reflect 🀅the effort I’ll be putting in. I’d like to wish Shakey well in his recovery and I’ll do my best to keep the seat warm for him.”

Irwin’s inclusion sees two🌄 pairs of brothers on the 2018 BSB grid with both Tarran and Taylor Mackenzie competing in the series this year.
