O’Halloran set to test fitness at Brands Hatch

The Austra✃lian rider suffered a damaged ank♏le two months ago at Imola during an ill-fated stand-in ride for the injured Leon Camier at the Red Bull Honda squad in World Superbikes.
Despite returning to action at Snetterton following the mid-season Ben🐼netts 𒁃British Superbike break, O’Halloran was forced out of race two at the Norfolk circuit following a multiple-rider clash in the opener.
With his fitnes✱s gradually returning, O’Halloran looked set for a trouble-f💎ree Knockhill round but after just missing out on points in race one he sat out the second race at the Scottish track suffering with the injury.
Having had a further two weeks of recovery, including taking part in Honda’s commitments at the Goodwood Festival of Spꦕeed last weekend, O’Halloran is hopeful of shaking off the injury at Brands Hatch this weekend.
“I am still carrying my ankle injury, so Friday will𝓀 be assessing the situation and seeing what strength and movement I have on the bike,” O’Halloran said. “💫At Knockhill I wasn’t able to complete the two races, so the aim for this weekend is to finish both races and get a good points haul.
“I felt good on the Friday and Saturday at Knockhill, but my body just wasn’t strong enough come Sunday. But we’ve had two weeks and I’ve been continuing the rehab and therapy, and last weekend I was at Goodwood with Honda, so did a lot of walking around the site and that’s helped with getting the l🥃eg strong again.
“I can’t wait to be back up the front agai𒉰n and I really hope we cꦫan do that this weekend, get some strong finishes and collect some more points towards our championship tally.
O’Halloran, who has secured two podiums so far this year, will be looking to kick-start his BSB campaign having slipped to 10th♐ in the riders’ standings folloไwing his difficulties at the past two rounds.
The Honda rider has fond recent meℱmories at the Brands Hatch GP circuit having claimed second place at the 2017 finale.
