Sensational O’Halloran completes second clean-sweep of 2021

Jason O'Halloran mastered all conditions at Thruxton to claim his third Bennetts British Superbike Championshiꦺp race win of the weekend, holding off Danny Buchan🅺 and a late charging Danny Kent.

Race three was declꦓared wet, but conditions improved just a few laps later resulting in a similar scenario to race three at Brands Hatch.

Tyre choices𒁏 varied throughout the field with pole sitter O’Halloran starting with an intermedia🐈te rear.

Peter Hickman and O’Halloran’s team-mate Tarran Mackenzie had the early advantage as they moved ahead of the Australian and 💎built a two second gap 💙thanks to their choice of the full wet rear tyre.

But after seven laps, O’Halloran and Danny Buchan began to close the 🅷leading pair down - with overtakes occurring on laps seven and eight.&nbsꩵp;

Meanwhile, Kent an꧅d Vickers carved their way through the mid-field pack, before challenging Mackenzie and Hickman for the podium.

It was a battle that didn’t last long as the full wet rears of Mackenzie and Hickma🌳n began to fade - both riderseventually finished seventh and eighth respectively.

Andrew Irwin scored his best finish of the season for SYNETIQ BMW with fifth place ahead of brot💮her Glenn Irwin.

Christian Iddon was the rider impacted the most tod𝔉ay as a crash in race two due to Lee Jackson clipping the Ducati man’ rear tyre saw him lose the championship lead. A battered and bruised Iddon came home in ninth during race three.

Speaking after his second clean-swꦑeep of the season, O’Halloran added: "It's been a very good weekend. Another triple, seven wins so far this year, four𓂃 in the last six races - it's been an amazing couple of weeks for us.

"A h🐟uge thanks to McAMS Yamaha, it's been another weekend of changeable conditions and we all made really good decisions together. When you are working together as a team and bouncing off each other and you get results like that it just keeps you going.

"To win in the dry this weekend was fantastic, but to win in those conditions in the final race was unbelievable. I'm probably happier with the third race win than any win so far - it was such a tough rac𝓀e.

"It was a ღgamble on the grid to go with an inter and to push at the end when it was raining was really tricky, but we made it happen, got another win and♔ I look forward to Donington in a couple of weeks."
