BTCC Silverstone: Goff takes shock win in crazy reverse grid race
Jack Goff has delivཧered Team HARD a shock first ever British Touring Car Championship race victory following a scarcely believable dry-wet reverse grid thriller at Silverstone.
With a rain a shower hitting the circuit just as the race started, 19 of the 30 car field opted t🦂o pit for wet tyres, including race w♉inner Goff.
Goff was set to start the rever𒁃se grid encounter from 21st but the Volkswagen CC driver immediately darted into pit-lane at the end of the parade lap before the race had even started.

Goff was set to start the revers♌e grid encounter from 21st but the Volkswagen CC driver immediately darted into pit-lane at the end of the parade lap before the race had even started.
It proved to be an inspired strategy. Goff was able to c�🌼�arve his way through the field as the rain gradually began to intensify as the laps wore on.
An early safety car period aided Goff's charge but the Team HARD driver made the race winning move as early as lap 14 after moving past the sl🔜ick tyre running BTC Racing Honda of Josh Cook.
Cook had led the race right up until that point but later fell down the or💙der after suffering ♛contact with title contender Dan Cammish on lap 18.
Having put himself into a race winning position, Goff did face a brief challenge for the victory from the Laser Tools Racing Infiniti of Aiden Moffat, who also chose to pit ♉early for the wet tyre.
However, Goff's route to victory was made easier when Moffat spun when directly behind the race leadingꦏ Volkswagen CC on on lap 15. Moffat ultimately recovered to finish in second, while Honda's Matt Neal complet✨ed the podium order in third.
With the order changing on a lap-by-lap basis, Team BMꦡW's Tom Oliphant ended up in fourth ahead of Tom Chilton, Jason Plato, Colin Turkington and Andrew Jordan in fifth, sixth,🔜 seventh and eighth.
Crucially, Turkington has extended his championship advantage to 16-points ahead of Honda's Dan C♎ammish, who, in turn, is a point further ahead of Jordan.
Cammish sat in a podium position for the majority of the race and looked as though ▨he might emerge with the championship lead after electing to remain on the slick tyre.
But the Team Dynamics driver fell down to the 12th by the end of the race as th♍e wet-tyre runners eventually made their way up the order.
