Audi's Mik🧔e Rockenfeller has suffered a small metatars꧃al fracture to his left foot following an incident which took him out of today's second Norisring DTM race.

Audi Sport confirmed on its Twitter page that Rockenfeller suffered a small fractur🔜e of the fifth metatarsal bone on his left foot.

The Team Phoenix driver was negotiating the Grundig Hairpin when Gary Paffett's severely damaged Mercedes C63 slammed straight into thꦉe side of Rockenfellerജ's Audi RS 5.

Paffett had lost control of his Mercedes whilst battling with Audi's Jamie Gre💙en and made heavy contact with Armco barrier heading towards the hairpin as a result.

Catastrophic dam🌃age to his car meant Paffett was powerless in avoiding Rockenfeller just seconds later.

The 🎃pair emerged from the wreckage of their own accord but Rockenfeller immediately displayed discomfort with his left foot after hopping to the Ambulance.

Both were taken to the Klinikum ♏S?d Hospital in Nuremberg for examination.

Describing the incident, Paffett has expressed his best wishes to Rockenfeller: "That was a bad smash, but I'm fine. I'm sorry that Rocky g൲ot hit and injured as a result. I hope he💛'll get well soon.

"My special thanks go to all the medics - both at 🦄the race🎃track and in the hospital. They took excellent care of me..."
