‘I’ll stick to driving on the track’ - Lewis Hamilton on golf with Tom Brady

Seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton declared he will “stick to driving on the track” after he teed off with NFL legend Tom Brady ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.

Hamilton joined seven-time Super Bowl winner Brady as the pair swapped sports for ‘The Big Pilo✱t’ golf challenge hosted by IWC at the 18-hol𒀰e Miami Beach Golf Club on Wednesday. 

They teamed up to take on American ꦛfootball running back Marcus Allen and CEO of non-profit Dibia DREAM, Brandon Okpalobi, for a longest-drive and closest-to-the-pin challenge. The event was organised to raise money for underprivileged children in Miami. 

Hamilton, who claimed it was the first time he had picked up a golf club in three years, comp❀lained his sw🐷ing was a little rusty and joked that he would stick to ‘driving on the track’. 

The 3🐼7-year-old Briton♏ also poked fun at his and Mercedes’ miserable start to the 2022 F1 season. 

“Finally, I’m going to win something this year,” Hamilton smiled after putting his ball within a few feet๊ of the pin. 

Hamilton believes his putting is the strongest part of his🔯 game and even likened it&nb𝓰sp;to Tiger Woods.

"I would like to say 🉐I'm a little bit like Tiger [Woods] with the putting," he said. 

"I was always so far away from the pin so I was always having to do the long putts, and every now and then I'd get one of those 10♚ footers, otherwise I was just useless."

After a day of relaxing i♊n the Miami sun, Hamilton’s focus will return to on-track matters as he prepares fo⭕r this weekend’s inaugural Miami Grand Prix. 

"It's our first time here in Miami and the anticipation for this event has 🐎skyrocketed," Hamilton added. 

"There are a few nerves becaus🍷e there's going to be🌳 so many people here, it's a new circuit but there's so much excitement."

Hamilton is only seventh in the drivers’ championship on 28🌌 points, 58 points adrift of early championship leader Charles Leclerc and 21 behind fourth-placed Mercedes teammate George Ru🔴ssell. 

Despite enduring a difficult start to F1’s new♛ era as Mercedes strugg🌺le to get to grips with the severe porpoising issues that have hampered their W13 car, Hamilton has insisted he has no plans to quit. 

“Working on my masterpiece, I’ll be the one to decide when it’s finished,” he wr👍ote in a cryptic social media post last week.
