Ricciardo entered this year as the overwhelming favourite to replace Perez at Red Bul✅l.
That’s because Christian Horner was influential in bringing the exiled Ricciardo back onto the F1 grid last year at the midway point, with AlphaTa🍎uri.
He had previously been surprisingly axed by McLar🎐en after a disa༺ppointing stint alongside Lando Norris.
But Ricciardo’s form this season has rare🌃🐬ly suggested he would be a significant upgrade on Perez in the Red Bull.
The highlights hav🔴e been, after a chassis change in China, a P4 in the sprint at the Miami Grand Prix and then qualify♐ing fifth for the Canadian Grand Prix.
But he has attracted critics too.
