Sauber confirmed🀅 on Saturday at a launch event it would be retaining Marcus Ericsson alongside the incomꦬing Ferrari youngster and Formula 2 champion Charles Leclerc꧒ in 2018, leaving the Italian marque's other hopeful, Antonio Giovinazzi, to take up a third driver role.

Ericsson has not scored any points in F1 since 2015, yet has been kept on in favour of previous teammates Felipe Nasr and Pascal Wehrlein am🧔id reported links to the team's owners.
