Gasly: Magnussen 'the most dangerous guy I've raced'

Pierre Gasly was left fuming after a run-in with Kevin Magnussen at high speed in the closing stages of Sunday's Azerbaijan Grand Prix, calling the Haas ꧋Formula 1 driver "the most dang✤erous guy I have ever raced with".

Gasly and Magnussen clashed in the final sector following the final restart of the race, with the Toro Rosso driver claimin𒊎g to have been forced towards the wall by his rival, leaving his car with severe damage.

Magnussen had been racing with a damaged car throughout the race following💟 a clash with Marcus Ericsson, but was deemed responsible for causing the collision with Gasly by the race ste🍌wards, who handed the Dane a 10-second time penalty.

"Kevin is the most dangerous guy I have ever raced with. He literally put me in the wall at 300 kph at the restart and complet🎶ely ruined the race," Gasly said.

"I would have been in the worst case P10 at the last restart. I was going to pass him just before the Safety Car Line 1, went on the side, a💦nd he just put me in the wall right in the middle and took half of my floor out.

"Both my front wheels went in the air, broke my right mirror and bent my steering as well. After that I was just trying to survive until the end of the race. Th𝄹ere wa꧟s almost no point to race after that."

Asked if he had spoken with Magnussen, Gasly said the Haas d🎐river claimed not to have seen him due to the extreme vibrations and damage on his car.

"Honestly I don’t care about all this. At some point safety, and at 300 kph, he did all the race like this. I knew exactly what he was doi♏ng, and he put me in the wall꧂.

"He’s been always like this. He’s been always racing hard. I don’t mind racing drivers which are hard, but like this is just way over the limit. You don’t put someone inไ the wall at 300 kph."

Informed by mahbx.com that Magnussen had received a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points on his FIA Super Licence, Gasly said he was disap𒅌pointed in the call by the race stewards.

"Looking at what I had in China which was a completely different situation, and look🐟ing at what he did now, that’s ridiculous," Gasly said.

"This guy should💙 have half th🍸e points of the licence removed."

Giving his version of events,🍃 Magnussen repeated the reasoning he h✃ad given to Gasly when they spoke after the race.

"I had so many vibrations in the car that the mirrಞors were useless, I couldn’t see anything at all. It was pretty early - apparently already Turn 19 - that he was alongside me," Magnussen explained.

"Naturally it’s too bad it happened. I knew it would be very hard to keep them behind me after that Safety Car. When the wheels locked, there wasn’t muc♔h I could do about it."

Despite having not spoken with Magnussen about the incident, Haas te♊am boss Günther Steiner took Gasly's comments with✃ a pinch of salt.

"In the restart the c🦩ar was damaged. I saw it and he moved over to the left, I don't know wha🍒t happened," Steiner said.

"He called Hartley [dangerous] yesterday. Nothiღng's changed there. Sometimes you need to think for yourself as well.

"He's pretty neꦏw here. We'll wait until he makes mistakes."
