Sauber praises Calderon's 'excellent' performance in latest F1 test

Tatiana Calꩲderon has completed her latest Formula 1 test with Sauber at the Fiorano Circuit, with the team praising her “excellent” performꩵance.

The Colombian GP3 racer drove a 2013 Ferrari-powered V8 Sauber C32 du💜ring the two-day test at the Italian circuit.

It followed Caಞlderon’s first laps behind the wheel of Sauber's 2018 challenger, as she took part in a filming day with the Swiss squad at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriquez after last month’s Mexican Grand Prix.

It followed Calderon’s first laps behind the wheel of Sauber's 2018 challeng♔er, as s♛he took part in a filming day with the Swiss squad at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriquez after last month’s Mexican Grand Prix.

The Sauber development driver turned in 202 laps - the equivalent o⛄f 594.890km - across the two days at Fiorano and set a best lap time of 58.802s on Sunday as she focused on qualifying and race simulations.

Sauber said Calderon “delivered an excellent performance” and managed “consistent lap times while demonstr✅ating dedication and endurance."

“It was another interesting ꦅꦐday of testing,” Calderon added.

“We focused on qualifying simulations in the mornin🅰g, and long-꧃runs in the afternoon.

“Overall, the past two days have been very beneficial to🎐 my development and I have gained valuable experience.

“The team did a great job in the preparation as well as the implementation of my programme and I fe⛄lt comfo𝄹rtable in the car as well as on the track.

“I look forward to putting what I have learned to practice.”

Calderon i🌜s un🅷derstood to be chasing a move up to Formula 2 for the 2019 season.
