Fernando Alonso i𓂃s bracing for an ♛emotional Formula 1 send-off with McLaren at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has he continues to hint at his future plans.

Having confirmed he will leave F1 at the end of this season, Alonso will make his 312^th and final Grand P🦋rix start to end a 17-year c🌱areer in the sport.

Alonso feels both he and McLare “don’t have anything to lose” so is aiming for a final highlight to add to a career which 𝄹includes 32 wins, 97 podiums, 22 pole positions and two F1 world titles.

“Abu Dhabi will c✤ertainly be very emotional race for me, as it will be the end of a lo𒈔ng and happy 17 years in Formula 1,” Alonso said. “The time has come for me to move on, but I’m looking forward to ending the season – and my F1 career – on a positive note.

“I’m fully focussed on this weekend in Abu Dhabi, and making the most of every day – in the c🦂ar, with the team, and with my friends and family. Abu Dhabi is a tough circuit, but we don’t have anything to lose, so both Stoffel and I will be fighting hard as always.”

The Spaniard confirmed he will remain a part of McLaren in 2019 by securing an Indianapolis 500 race seat with the Woking-ba𓆏sed team and has continued to hint at his future plans.

“I’m also pleased t⛦hat my relationship with McLaren will continue with the Indy 500, and there will be m✤ore new challenges together. There are very exciting things ahead, and I’m enthusiastic for what the future will bring. For now, I’m not ruling anything out.”

Alonso’s current 2019 racing programme consists of the three-round conclusion of the ongoing World Endurance Championship with Toyota Gazoo Racing – with races at Sebring (March🎃 15), Spa-Francorchamps (May 4) and Le Mans (June 15-16) – plus his Indy 500 return in May.

The Spanish driver confirmed during the Brazilian Grand Prix more even🌳ts would be added to his 2019 programme in the coming weeks.
