Pierre Gasly takes new gearbox for Azerbaijan GP after Friday penalty
Pierre Gasly has taken a💮 fresh gearbox ahead of this weekend's Azerbaijan Grand Prix after being resigned to a pit lane start following an infringement in practice on Friday.
Gasly failed to stop for the FIA weighbridge at the end of FP2 at the Baku City Circuit, with the𝓀 stewards punishing the Red Bull driver by forcing him to start Sunday's race from the pit lane.
In light of the penalty, Red Bull has opted to change the gearbox on Gasly's car prior to Saturday's sessions in Azerbaijan, as c🌳onfirmed by FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer folꦉlowing the start of FP3 in Baku.

While the stewards willꩲ hand Gasly a f🅷ive-place grid penalty later today as a result of the gearbox change as it breaches the regulations, it will have no impact on the Frenchman given his pit lane start.
The FIA also confirmed that Williams' George Russell has taken a new energy store and control electronics on his power un♔it following his accident on Friday.
Russell remains within the season limit, so will not receive any pওenalty.
