Daniel Ricciar꧅do is determined to return ༺to the points at this weekend’s British Grand Prix and rediscover the momentum Renault was beginning to build during the 2019 Formula 1 season.

After a disappointing start to the campaign, Ricciardo took back-to-back points finishes i🌳n Monaco and Canada, before failing to score in France and Austria.

Coupled with McLaren’s recent resurgence, Renault has now fallen 20 points behind the Woking squad in fifth place in the cꦕonstructors’ championship.

“We have had a good run so I don’t want to let [Austria] dictate the whole start of the season - we ha🐻d some momentum so I want to find it for Silverstone,” Ricciardo said.

“Look⛄ing at the McLarens they certainly are🧸 the benchmark now and they have really come on, and they are the ones with that kind of package that we are looking for.

“It seems that they are able to run more downforce and more efficiently, so they 💧can run higher downforce yet lose less in the straights.

“Our package when we do run more, we don’t seem to be able to use it well. That is som❀ething. Whether that goes back to correlation in the wind tunnel, all these things, all that is going to be🐠 addressed and we will try to figure it out.”

Ricciardo🐷 said the French manufacturer’s recent form does not add up and hopes the team ca⛦n find a solution to fight back against McLaren soon.

“Absolutely somet♊hing is not adding 𝄹up,” he explained. “The team has invested a lot and the value for money is not coming yet. So where that lies, I don’t know, but we will see.

“I feel something still was not quite right on the car🐬 [in Austria],” he added.

“What that is though, we stil𒁃l don’t know, but I’dও like to believe that we are going to find something because right now it doesn’t add up.

“So for now I remain optimistic that there will be like (snaps fingers) that was all that was wrong. Then we will be in Silverstone𓆏 laughing.”
