Melbourne keeps F1 Australian Grand Prix until 2025

Formula 1 has extended its deal with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation to keep the race in Melbourne until at꧑ least the end of 2025.

After recentl👍y announcing the Australian GP would host the 2020 F1 season opener on March 13-15, a new two-year contract extension has been confirmed which keeps the race in Melbourne for a further five years – with Albert Park expected to remain the host circuit.

Formula 1 has extended its deal with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation to keep the race in Me𝄹lbourne until at least the end of 2025.

After recently announcing the Australian GP would host the 2020 F1 season opener on March 13-15, a new two-year contract extension has been confirmed whi🍸ch keeps the race in Melbourne for a further five years – with Albert Park expected to remain the host circuit.

Melbourne’s city track has hosted F1 since 1996, taking the race off of 🀅Adelaide, and has been the venue for ꦍthe opening round for every season apart from in 2006 and 2010.

“The decision to extend the current relationship for a further two years stems from the fact this event has proved to be a resounding success for the capital of Victoria, for Australia and indeed aroun𒆙d the world, proving immensely populaꦆr with fans and those who work in Formula 1,” Chase Carey, F1 Chairman and CEO, said..

“Worki𓆉ng along with our partner, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, we plan to make the Australian Grand Prix even more exciting and spectacular, as a sporting event and as a form of entertainment.

“Today’s announcement follows on from last week’s, relating to the British Grand Prix and is proof that more and more promoters are shar𝔉ing our lo🌳ng-term vision for the future of Formula 1.”

“This is a fantastic vote of confidence from Formula 1 to continue racin♓g in Melbourne until at least 2025,” Martin Pakula MP, Victoria Minister for Toꦐurism, Sport and Major Events, added.

“Victoria hosts major events better than anywhere else in the world and I’m excited that Formula 1 has chosen to exercise its option to extend the contract and enable the Victorian Government💛 and the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) to continue to deliver more world-class events for Victoria.”
