Light rain prompted most team to l🐎imit their running throughout the final hour of practice at the Hungaroring on Friday, with Hamilton completing j🗹ust three laps on the Intermediate tyres before bringing his session to an early end.
The Mercedes driver ended the day third-fastest, but explained after the session that there was very little for drivers and teams to gain by completing laps and lap♔s when wet weather hits in practice.
"Thi🍰s afternoon we got a slight run on the harder tyre, I got a couple of laps and that was about it. And then three laps out there, and then we obviously stopped," Hamilton said.
"There’s just really not much poꦇint going out in the wet. Nowadays, if you know Sunday is going to be wet and Saturday is going to be wet and it will be a completely wet weekend, you can make subtle changes to help with the wet balance.
"But it’s kind of irrelevant now, especially when you know the race is going to be mostly dry, then you just focus on gett🅰ing the best setup in the dry and then you deal with it in the wet."
Friday's practice running marked Hamilton's first running in an F1 car since last Sunday's German Grand Prix when he was struggling with illness, but the Brito🅺n reported he was back fee♋ling comfortable again behind the wheel.
"I was a million times better getting back in the car this morning꧟, and even this afternoo🎃n," Hamilton said.
"I'm still sweating a lot, so I’m obviously still sweating out whatever bug that I ha♔d, but that’s a good thing."
