The future of the Mexican Grand Prix is set to be secured with the signing of a new Formula 1 contract on Thursday, as confirmed by the 🌺m🔯ayor of Mexico City.

Mexico returned to the F1 calendar in 2015 and quickly became one of the sport's most vibrant and p♚opular races, but faced an uncertain future after the country's president suggested funding would be cut to instead support a mobility programme in Mexico City.

The future of the Mexican Grand Prix is set to be secured with the signing of a new Formula 1 contract on Thursday, as co꧟nfirmed by the mayor of Mexico City.

Mexico returned to the F1 calendar in 2015 and quickly became one of the sport's most vibrant and popular races, but faced an uncertain future after the country's president suggested funding would be cut to instead ༒support a mobility programme in Mexico City.

However, negotiations have led to an agreement between the race organisers and F1 that will lead to a new contract being signed for the grand prix on Thursday with FIA president Jean Tod𓆉t.

The news was confirmed by Claudia Sheinbaum, the may💯or of Mexico City, in a video posted to Twitter on Wednesday morning.

The extension of the Mexican Grand Prix contract means the F1 calendar is set to reach a record-breaking 22 races in 2020 with the addition of new events in Vietnam and the Netherlands, a꧂nd only the loss of the German Grand Prix.
