Bottas bemoans ‘bad’ season as F1 2020 title hopes slip away

Valtteri Bottas has described as 20🤡20 F1 campaign as ‘pretty bad’ thus far after the promise of his opening round vict🍸ory in Austria was extinguished by a run of lacklustre results relative to runaway title leading team-mate Lewis Hamilton.

Just as he did in 2019, the Finn began the season with a bang by winning out of the box at the Red Bull Ring, raising hopes of a potential title battle with🔥 his six-time F1 title winning team-mate Hamilton.

However, since then Bottas has struggled to match the Briton in race trim and has been hampered by niggling issues, not least the late race blowout at Silverstone that dropped him o🌳utside of the points.

Though it is still rel❀atively early days six rounds into a season that is expected to exceed the 13 rounds currently confirmed, Bottas is already 43 points shy of Hamilton in the standings, while a strong run of fꦑorm from Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has also seen him leapfrog him into second overall.

Indeed, Bottas has a rel✃atively damning assessment of his season so far, branding it ‘pretty bad’ from round two onwards.

“Apart from the first race, it’s been prܫetty bad. There’s not been a weekend that has gone smoothly and without issues or so on apart from the fi🍒rst one. So a pretty bad season so far.

“Obviously, that’s disappointing so it’s nice to have a break. Hopefully we still have many more races to 🍬go, maybe even up to 10 or something like this. I would ꦚhope so. It’s far from ideal.
