Lewis Hamilton ‘could have only dreamed’ of setting F1 wins record
Lewis Hamilton says𝓡 it will “take some time to fully sink in” that he has won more Formula ౠ1 races than any other driver in history.
Hamilton claimed the 92nd victory of his career at the Portuguese Grand Prix to🃏 overtake Michael Schumacher’s previous benchmark of 91 wins and put h🐭imself clear in the record books.
The Briton aꦿdmitted it was hard to find the words to describe his achievement but said he “could only ever have dreamed” of getting to such a tally of wins.

The Briton admitted it was hard to find the words to describe his achievement bu▨t said he “could only ever have dreamed” of getting to such a 🅺tally of wins.
“It’s going to take some time to fully sink in,” Hamilton said. “I was still pushing flat out all the way to🌳 the line. I’m very much s🐎till in race mode, mentally. I can’t find the words at the moment.
“I could only ever have dreamed to have been where I am today. I didn’t have a maܫgic ball when I chose to come to this team and partner with these great people, but here I am.
“What I can tell you is🧸 that I’m trying to make the most of it everyday. Everything that we do together, we’re all rolling in the same dirꦿection and that’s really why you’re seeing the success that we’re having.
“We’ve got my dad here, which is am🐭azing and my step-mum Linda and Roscoe [Hamilton’s dog]. So it’s a very blesse𒅌d day.”
It was not all plain-sai༒ling for Hamilton, ꧑who had to fight back to pass Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas, while he also suffered from leg cramp in the closing stages on his way to sealing his eighth win from 12 races this year.
Hamilton explained it required “mind over matter” to get through the pain which was “�꧂�excruciating” at times.
"You know it's💖 an incredibly physical sport but I had a cramp in my right calf," he added.
"So I was lifting quite oftജen down the straight because it was about to pull.
"[It was] pretty painful, buꦏt I had to somehow get through it because it is what it isꦬ. You can't lift the whole lap."
