Formula 1’s seaso💎n-opening Bahrain Grand Prix will allow fans that have been vaccinated against, or recovered from coronavirus, to attend the race.

On Thursday, the Bahrain International Circuit announced the launch of ticket sales for the opening round of the 2021 F1 season in the Gulf State for “vaccinated or COVID-19 recovered individuals” ♛to ensure the event can go ahead in a safe environment, and in line with government health advice.

It m♎arks a boost for F1, with the championship hopeful that fans could return to stands at a number of races on its 23-round calendar despite the ongoing pandemic.

The BIC has published a list of criteria that those wishing to attend the 26-28 March race must meet, with fans needing to show proof that they have been fully vaccinated with two weeks pas꧟sed since their second dose, or that the same timeframe has elapsed since they were infected.

Social distancing and enhanced sanitat🍒ion measures will be implemented in food and entertainment areas, all of which will be located outside,༒ while fans must undergo health screening points on entry and wear masks at all times.

“In November and December last year, we had the honour to host our healthcare heroes as spectators, and we are pleased this time be open for a broader group of fans, with tickets available to buy for this prestigious first race of th♑e season.”

F1 is understood to have declined a recent offer from Bahrain to vaccinate all personnel attending pre-season testing the grand prix, with teams expected 🎀to respond in the same way.

Speaking last month, new F1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali said: "The priority is the most vulnerable. We don't want to jump the line of vaccin🧸ation."
