Alpine confirms Marcin Budkowski’s departure from F1 team

A short team statement released on Thursday confirmed that Alpine CEO Laurent 🌱Rossi will takeover the running of the Enstone-based outfit on a temporary basis to oversee preparations for the upcoming 2022 F1 season.
⭕Budkowski, 44, leaves Alpine after three years with the team, having previously worked as the head of the FIA’s F1 𒈔technical department.
“I truly enjoyed being part of the leadership team of Re🦂nault then Alpine F1 Team, working with such a talented and dedicated group of people,” said Budkowski of his exit. “I will be watching the teams’ progress fondly in t🐭he seasons to come.”
Rossi added: “I would like to thank Marcin Budkowski for his commitmꦉent and contribution to the team’s results over the🌠 last four years.
“The team is fully focused on getting the car ready for the first race in Bahrain and 🥃deliver a step beyond in performance.”
The formal announcement of Budkowski’s departure follows recent talk of a potential mana꧟gement reshuffle at Alpine.
It also comes a꧃fter Otmar🍷 Szafnauer left his role as team principal and chief executive officer of the Aston Martin team earlier this month.
Szafnauer had been heavily linked with a switch to Alpine over the winter, while there have also been rumours that Budkowﷺski could move in the other direction to join Aston Martin.
