♚Williams had hoped to bounce back and be a "next gen" team through 2019, only to continue its decline after a difficult 2018 and plummet to new depths, scoring just a single point through the entire season.
After failing to get the new FW42 car to testing on time, instead missing the first two-and-a-half days of running, the tone was set for Williams' season. Robert Kubica and George Russell were both left adriꩲft of the midfield by huge mജargins throughout the year, only left to scrap with each other to not be at the very back of the field.
While Kubica was able to fluke a point thr꧃ough the madness of the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim, Williams had little to smile about through a dif🐻ficult campaign that saw technical chief Paddy Lowe depart as a result of its early-year troubles.
Russell's performances were the big highlight of the year fo♛r Williams, and he will now step into a team leader role at Grove as Formula 2 runner-up Nicholas Latifi joins as his new teammate for the 2020 season, marking a fourth change in line-up in as many seasons.
The target this year will be to not lose any more ground on the midfield and to try and steady the ship, with a view to capitalising on the rule c🌌hanges beckoning in 2021 to take a stride back towards꧑ being competitive on a regular basis.
