Abt shot to the top of the timesheets late on with a qualifying simulation 200kW lap, turning in a time of 1:19.760 to finish one-tenth of ⭕a second clear of di Grassi in second place.
Renault's Sebastien Buemi took third place, fꦬinishing just four-hundreꦉdths of a second back from di Grassi, with the lead trio being the only drivers to dip below the 1:20s mark.
Mitch Evans led Jaguar's charge once again in fourth place ahead🎃 of teammate Nelson Piquet Jr., while Alex Lynn ended the session sixth for DS Virgin Racing.
Jose Maria Lopez impressed on his return to the series 💖with Dragon Racing, finishing seventh ahead of Felix Rosenqvist. The Techeetah duo of Jean-Eric Vergne and Andre Lotterer completed the top 10 positions, with the leading 15 drivers in FP2 being covered by less than one second.
