With half of the Formula E season completed, Vergne heads into the European leg of the calend𓄧ar in control of the title fight, but he stressed there was still plenty to play for through the remaining six races.
"Every point is crucial at this stage of the championship, so it’s great to have the points from today's ra🍨ce and from the pole position. There’s still a haul of points to play for and we’re not guaranteed anything just because we are leading the championship now," Vergne said.
"We’re all going to ꦰpush even harder now to stay where we are and to further increase the lead. If Formula E history tells us anything, the championship isn’t won until the very last race.
"A big thanks to the whole team for the continuꦇed hard work - together we can take this."
Techeetah also sits at the helm of the Formula E teams' standings following Saturday's ꧑race in Punta del Este, running 27 points clear of Mahindra.
"We ▨are incredibly happy to have extended our championship lead with another 25 points for the win, but also with another three points for the pole position," Techeetah team principal Mark Preston added.
𝓀"Jean-Eric has really shown his fantastic talent this week, both in and outside of the car. He has really transformed over the last year and is a more mature driver now, which he displayed in today’s race.
"We’re now leading the championship with 27 points, and I would like to thank the whole team for the hard work they have all put in. We’ve really come together as a tea💟m lately and it’s such a joy to continue to take some positive steps forward together."
