Reigning FIA Formula E champion Jean-Eric Vergne will start the Monaco E-Prix from pole position, af𝐆ter a grid penalty for Oliver Rowland is applied. 

Rowland set the pace in the Superpole segment of qualifying after 💯turning in a 50.021s lap but will be demoted three positions on the Monte Carlo grid for hitting rival Alexander Sims during the last race in Paris. The grid drop means that Vergne will now inherit pole, having missed out on claiming the position outright by just 0.021s. 

Jaguar's Mitch Evans is set to join the Techeetah driver on the front-r♏ow of the grid, though the New Zealander is under investigation for a possible infrigement during the pole shootout. 

Paris polesitter Pascal Wehrlein is a𓆉nother driver w🐬ho will promoted ahead of Rowland into third spot after he posted the fourth-best lap in qualifying, ahead of Venturi's Felipe Massa, who will start from fifth. 

Sebastien Buemi was two tenths down on his teammate's pace as he ended up sixth-fastest, ahead of BMW's Alexander Sims and the second Ja𒆙guar of the returning A💙lex Lynn. 

Antonio Felix da Costa (BMW) and Jose Maria Lopez (Dragon) rounded out the top ten in what proved to be an ✱incredibly close qualifying, with less th𝔍an a second covering the entire grid of 22 drivers.
