BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld was left cursing David Coulthard's accident in Q2 on Saturday at the Principality as it robbed﷽ him of his last chance to try and get into the top-ten shootout.

Heidfeld thus ended up almost a second slower than his team-mate, Robert Kubica and while the Pole will start from fifth - and might be able to challenge 𒅌for a podium in Sunday's Monaco GP - Nick will have to start from 13th, where he is likely to find it difficult to even break into t♏he top eight.

The fact he is also struggling to get the m꧋ost from his Bridgestone tyres m𝓡erely added to the agony.

"Unfortun♛ately I don't have much to say: my qualifyiꦅng result is disappointing," he admitted.

"Her🐽e in Monaco I can't he🌊at up the tyres quickly enough."

Heidfeld however, wasn't the only driver to be affected by🍒 DC's off, as Honda duo Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, also felt that the accident had co🅘mpromised them and they will line-up in 12th and 15th.

"We spent the session working on the balance, trying to remove understeer from the car in the high-speed corners, which we achieved and the balance was improving," said Button. "On my last run, the car felt good and I gained almost two-tenths in the first sector on my previous best time, then in 𝔉the second sector Coulthard had his incident which unfortunately meant I couldn't improve my time because of the yellow flags.

"We're not in t🗹he top ten and it's disappointing - but that's Monaco for you and what is important is that we know the car was quick enough to have improved."

"It was certainly a disappointing second session for us," added Rubens. "Unfortunately I didn't have a good first run because of traffic and then my second outing was interr⭕upted by the yellow flags.

"It's a shame as the car was certainly competitive enough to get into Q3. However there is no place for 'if only' in Formula One and we are down in 15th, so it will be a tough race fro꧙m there."
