GP3: Calderon latest Arden addition
Tatiana Calderon has joined 💮Arden International aജs she steps into GP3 after three years in the European Formula 3 championship.
The Colombian driver suffered a frustrating 2015 after failing to score a single point in her third Euro F3 campaign but after finishing runner-up in the MRF Series over the winter, Calderon is relishing a fresh start in GP3 as she becomes the first female to race for Ardꦉen in its 19-year history.
"I'm really excited to be joining Arden for the 2016 GP3 Series," Calderon said. "It's another step forward in my career. I know it's going to be a challenging firsᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚt year in the series but I know I'm in the right place surrounded by the right people to learn and make the most out of this amazing opportunity.
"Arden has been very su🦄ccessful in GP3. They know what it takes to be fighting up the front so I can't wait to start working with them towards that goal."
Arden International general manager has welcomed the 🍨22-year-old with open arms to the Banbury-based team after being impressed by herღ pace during the post-season test at Abu Dhabi last November.
"It's great to have Tatiana racing with us this sea𝄹son," Rouse said. "She participated in the GP3 tests in Abu 💎Dhabi and seemed to adapt to the GP3 car really well and set some very competitive lap times on performance runs. Coming off the back of a strong run to 2nd place in the MRF series over the winter, I' m sure her confidence will be high and it will be good to try and keep that momentum going."
Calderon becomes the third name on Arden International's GP3 driver line-up alongside fellow😼 Euro F3 gradate Jake Dennis and Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS and Eurocup champion Jack Aitken, with a fourth driver expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
