Macau GP: McGuinness ends season with solid fourth

John McGuinness admitted he was 'slightly disappointed' to miss out on a rostrum finish in the Macau🍌 Grand Prix on Saturday, although the Morecambe rider had the consolation of maki🉐ng the pass of the race.
McGuinness rode around the outside of Gary Johnson (Penz13.com BMW) with a stunning move to snatch fourth on 🐼the final lap after a thrilling conclusion to the 12-lap race, which was won in style by Peter Hickman on the Briggs BMW.
"I got an average start off the line and after that, it🍷 was just wheel-to-wheel for the whole 12-laps," said the 23-time Isle of Man TT win♐ner.
"I had a great race with Michael 🐼[Rutter], Gary and🎃 'Hutchy', and then Stuart [Easton] came from nowhere and got stuck into our group.
"The move on Gary for fourth was brave, but I𝄹 had confidence in myself and the Fireblade that we'd make it, so thought just go for it," McGuinness added.
"I am slightl🌸y disappointed that I wasn't on the podium, but I've had a good year and I enjoyed myself today so I'm happy with fourth, it's a really good way to end the season."
McGuinness made his debut at the Macau Grand Prix in 1998 and has one victory on his record after taking his maide♍n win around t♏he Guia street course in 2001.
