Indianapolis confirms 'new-look' MotoGP layout

India🍌napolis Motor Speedway has confir✱med that a 'new-look' circuit layout will be used for its MotoGP event.
The revisions mainly involve the opening-up of some corners and are🐬 h꧑ighlighted in yellow.

Next August's race will be the seventh consecutive MotoGP round at Indianapolis and the final year of the present contract. However with California's Laguna Seca dropping off the calendar and the new Indianapolis circuit revisions, which will include a complete infiꦬeld resurfacing, a further contract looks assured.

IMS officials worked with series organiser Dorna Sports and governi𝔉ng body FIM to create the 16-turn, 2.645-mile circuit featuring new turn configurations and braking zones, aimed at creating more passing opportunities.
The entire infield secti๊on 🌄of the circuit will also be resurfaced to create a more uniform, smooth racing surface. This was needed to address criticism from riders of the varying grip levels caused by the different types of asphalt previously in place.
