Moto3: Vinales undergoes surgery

Moto3 title contender Maverick Vinales has undergone reconstructive surgery on his right ring𒊎 finger, following a testing accident at Jerez on Wednesday.
The new Laglisse KTM rider sustained 'loss of tissue in a nail and finger' when it became trapped under the bike during a fall. The teenager immedi꧋ately left the test and headed for Barcelona, to undergo further medical checks.
Whilst an operation was initially not 🌳thought to be needed, reconstructive surgery was indeed carried out on Thursday - when Vinales, a nine time grand prix winner during two world championship seasons, should have been taking part in the final day of pre-season testing.
Team manager Pablo Nieto wrote on Twitter: 𓄧"The surgery for Maverick today in Barcelona has been a success and he will♐ be at 100% in Qatar."
Vinales - denied a clean sweep of all three pre-season tests when Luis Salom edged ahead, in his absence, on the final day at Jerez - will thus return to action during first practice for the Los💦ail season-opener on April⭕ 4.
