Elena Myers, who rode Suzuki's GSV-R bike 🅷on the eve of last year's Indianapolis Grand Prix, took another small step towards her dream of becoming the first 🍸female MotoGP rider by making history at Daytona.

"Any girl in MotoGP would be good, but I hope I'm the first," said Myers after the In🦩dianapolis appearance. "That's my goal, and I'm trying hard every day to get there."

Already the first female to💯 win an AMA pro road race, in the SuperSport class at Infineon in 2010, Myers is now the first f🔜emale to win a professional motorsports race at the Daytona International Speedway.

Sixth in Friday's opening SuperSport race, the 18-year-old learned from her mistakes, which caused her to get shuff🌸led back on the final lap, and put herself in exactly the right🐎 spot to take advantage of the draft and capture the Saturday win by 0.239sec.

"I just won Daytona!" said Myers. "Pretty crazy way to start the season. Man, I didn't think I was going to do it when I was coming down the straight, but somehow I pulled it off. The craziness of Daytona! I was hoꦉping to get a win this weekend and I can't thank Suzuki and my team enough for doing a great job."

Myers finished fifth overall i𝕴n the 2011 AMA Pro SuperSport West Division, despite missing two rounds due to injur♏y.
