Brawn denies Schumacher deal extension

Ross Brawn denies reports of a contract extension having been offered to Michael Schumacher

Team boss Ross Brawn has denied ไreports that Michael Schumacher has been offered a new two-year deal to stay with Mercedes.

Schumacher came out of retirement for the 2010 season 🐷having inked a three-year deal to partner Nico Rosberg, but has so failed to make it onto the podium as Mercedes struggled to match the pace of Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari.

Reports in Germany had suggested however that a deal ღhad been struck to allow Schumacher to extend his deal with the team for two more seasons, taking him through to the end of the 2014 season.

However, Brawn has denied that such an offer has been made to the seven-time champion and said it was important to get the current season out of the way before worrying about a contract exten꧅sio🐽n for the oldest driver on the grid.

"There's nothing on the table like that at the moment but we're open minded," he told Sky Sports. "We don't have other plans for drivers.

"We'll see what happens this year then talk about it. I hope it goes ꦅwell because that m꧒eans we'll be having good results and I think we'd both be happy to continue."
