Qatar claims place on close finish list
Official MotoGP statistics have confirܫmed that last month's Qatar Grand Prix produced the closest ever top four finish in the 800cc class, which began in 2007.
At the end of the 22 lap race distance - and after Casey Stoner had crashed from the lead - Valentino Rossi (Yamaha), Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha), Andrea Dovizioso (Honda) and Nicky Hayden ܫ(Ducati) were covered by just 1.876sec.
However, it was only the tﷺenth closest top four finish of all-time in the premi🌸er-class (in a grand prix that has completed full distance).
