After back-to-back Independents' titles, 2009 saw Colin Turkington st꧃ep up to the plate to become overall BTCC champ🍌ion for the first time.

The Team RAC man started the season with two podiums at Brands Hatch and took a first win of the year at Thruxto𝔍n - with five further wins com🐟ing later in the year.

Two victories at both Oulton Park and Croft saw Turkington move into the of the standings and while his final win of the season came at Snetterton - with twelve races still to go - the Northern Irishman drove with his head to regularly pick up points and hold off the challenge of Jason Pla✨to and Fabrizio Giovanardi.

A more mature, more aggressive Turkington also picked up the Independents' title for the third successive season and was crowned as your to💟p☂ driver for the season following our vote.
