IRC: Meeke excluded from Rally Scotland

N🅠ewly crowned Intercontinental Rally Challenge title winner Kris Meeke has been excluded from the results of the season-ending Rally of Scotland.

Meeke had taken victory in the event at the wheel of his Peugeot UK entered Peugeot 207 S2000 after an event-long battle with the Skoda of Guy Wilks, 🧸but post-event checks raised question marks over the legality of the fron🍌t subframe on the car.

The suspect part has now undergone a series of further check𒀰s which have revealed that it was below the minim♋um weight required, with the decision taken to exclude Meeke as a result.

The Kronos-run team will not🌊 appeal the decision, which has no bearing on the IRC title race with Meeke having been crowned champion prior to the✅ season finale.

"After due deliberation, the stewards noted that💟 P💞eugeot UK and Peugeot Sport admitted a lack of control in the manufacture of this subframe," a statement read. "The stewards also recognised that there was no fraudulent intent on the part of the entrant or manufacturer.

"The stewards decide to exclude competitor #1 from the event in accordance with article 158 of the 2009 FIA International Sporting Code owing to non-con🏅formity with the relevant FIA homologation paper."
