Japanese Grand Prix winner Billy Mackenzie underwent an x-ray on his broken left hand on Tuesday - and has now been given the all-clear to compete in his home British Grand Prix thi🌊s weekend.

The Yamaha rider currently stands sixth in the MX2 World Championship but sought medical attention after two difficult outings in Bulgaria and Italy from which h✤e was only ab𝔉le to pick up 18 points.

Visiting a hand specialist the 22 year old Scot was told that the broken metacarpal would heal fully in four weeks. He has been given a special splin𝔍t to support the hand when riding and is unable to practice during the week. The x-ray revealed that the break had moved sligh🐎tly after the punishment taken at Sevlievo and Montevarchi but was starting to mend.

Mackenzie will now travel to Matterley, only a few miles from his Southampton home, and receive pain killing injections before the eighth rওound of fifteen this campaign. 'Mac' won the first moto on the Isle of Wight for the Grand Prix of England last year and will be chasing a repeat victory this Sunday.

"I'm getting really excited abo🌊ut it," said Billy of his upcoming home race. "I still remember last year and seeing everyone; all the cheering, flag waving and people leaning over the fences shouting at you. That kind of home advantage worked for the Italians last week.

"I expect to be running at the front and I hope with two good starts I will give everyone something to shout for. It will take a lot to stop me pushing all the way fo🅷r th🤪e win," he warned.

Th🃏e British Grand Prix will take place just outside of Winchꦿester and is signposted from the nearby M3 motorway from London.
