Only two weeks after taking his maiden victory in the FIA World Touring Car Championship at Oschersleben, Alex Zanardi has secured the Ita🎐lian Superturismo Chꦕampionship title after a double victory at Varano.

At the wheel of his BMW 320i run by ROAL Motorspo⛄rt and backed by BMW Italy, Zanardi had set pole position in Saturday's qualifying, with a lap in 1min 11.443secs, three tenths of a second faster than Salvatore Tavano, before beating the Alfa Romeo driver bܫy a comfortable margin in the opening race of the weekend.

Zanardi then took the spoils in race two ahead of Tavano's team-mate Andrea La💫rini while Stefano Valli completed the podium.

With the Italian title 💟wrapped up, Zanardi can now switch his focus back to the WTCC, which heads to Istanbul this coming weekend for the eighth meeting of the year.
