Elliott Sadler's pit-crew pocketed its second victory in as many weeks by winning the McDonald's Drive-Thru Pit Championship fuelled by POWERade in Sunday's Dodge/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway in﷽ Sonoma. The #38 crew also took top honours the week before at Michigan International Speedway.
The back-to-back victories not only doubled the crew's prize money total to $40,000, but significantly closed the gap in the McDonald's/POWERade season point standings and the chase for the $200,000 champion's bonus. The team gained 16 points on the leading #8 crew of Dale Earnhardt Jr and, after 16 ofཧ 36 Cup races, has 590 points, only twelve behind Earnhardt's ♒crew. Kurt Busch's crew is third with 553 points.
During Sunday's road-race on the twisting eleven-turn, 1.99-mile circuit, Sadler's M&M's Ford s෴pent the least amount of time on pit road - 104.331secs. Jeff Burton's Roush Racing For🐭d was second with a time of 105.277 and Michael Waltrip's NAPA Chevy was third at 108.526.
"Two-in-a-row is pretty stout," said #38 crew chief Todd Parrott, "These guys are working their hardest. I am real excited for this team, and am speaking on behal🌸f of Elliott as well. We would not have the finishes we've had without the help of the pit crew. How cool is that!"
Sadler's over-the-wall crew consist♏s of: Darryl Lockyer, Kꦕevin Hall, Dave Smith, Lance Hanna, Rodney Fetters, Preston Cordell and Jay Thompson.
