Injured IRL star Kenny Brack underwent successful surgery on his broken right femur and ankles at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas last night, th𓃲e first stage in a lengthy rehabilitation process following his massive accident at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday.

The Swede was vaulted over the top of Tomas Scheckter's car and into the catch fencing, which ripped all the ancillary parts from the Team Rahal ℱDallara before leaving Brack spinning down the road still encased in its safety cell. Although there was initially some concern over his condi🗹tion, this was later regraded to 'status three', meaning that his life was not in any immediate danger, despite multiple fractures.

According to Dr Henry Bock, the IRL's director of m꧅edical services, Dr Brian Estridge, a specialist trauma surgeon, and Dr Charles Reinert, an orthopaedic surgeon, performed the surgery. Brack remains in serious but stable condition at the hospital, but is awake and alert.

The former IRL and Indy 500 champion suffܫered a fractured right femur, a fractured st🦹ernum and lumbar and fractures to both ankles in the lap 188 accident during the Chevy 500.

Further updates on Brack's cﷺondition will be provided when💜 available.
