Following the recent signing of Frank Smart, Newport have moved to retain Craig Watson f♑or 2003 when the popular Australian duo will again spearhead the Wasp's campaign.

Watson has spent most of his British speedway career w🎐ith the South Wales club apart from an ill-fated dally with Poole in the Elite League a couple of seasons ago which was blighte♎d by injury and poor form.

But a return to N♚ewport last season proved a welcome tonic and saw Watson return to impressive form. He topped the Newport averages and represented his employers with credit in the Premier League Riders' Championship at Belle Vue.

Watson apparently still holds ambitions of anothe🧔r crack at Elite League racing and another successful season with the Wasps could set him on the way🐻 to that perhaps in 2004.
