Chili refused Mugello wild-card.
It has emerged from Italy that World Superbike rider P✤ierfrancesco Chili was turned down for a ride in the Mugello Grand P🉐rix last weekend.
Chili had apparently made it plain that he fancied the chance to race a GP500 Suzuki against the likes of Kenny Roberts and the Hondas of Alex Criville and Loris Capirossi, but the Japanese company turned him𒈔 down for fear that he may be distracted from his assault on the WSBK series.

The Italian is no stranger to the premier grand prix class, having contested it for five years between 1986 and 1990 - and then again in 1995 - and may yet get the chance to return at the end of the year but, until then he w𒁏as forced to cool his heels at Mugello while the rest of field duked it out.
