JJ Lehto has be🌠en acquitted of drink driving over a boating accident back in 2010 that killed one of his friend.

The formerꦫ F1 driver was sentenced to two years and four 🅺months in prison last year by a district court, which found him guilty on evidence that suggested he was in control of the boat when it crashed into a bridge.

Lehto launched an appeal against the sentence, with a court of appeal hearing ruling that it couldn't ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚbe proven if he was in fact behind the wheel at the time the accident occurred.

The 46-year-old drove in F1 from 1989 to 1994, taking a best finish of third in🌱 the 1991 San Marino Grand Prix, and then went on to co♓mpete in the Le Mans 24 Hours, where he took overall victory in both 1995 and 2005.
