Dorna pay tribute to Kato.
Carmelo Ezpeleta, on behalf of all of Dorna Sports, has led the tributes to Daijiro Kato, who pass🦩ed away tonight (Saturday) at the Yokkaichi Central Hospital.
The Japanese rider was unable to overcome the severe injuries sustained to his head and neck after his accident during the opening laps of the Japඣanese Grand Prix, at Suzuka, on April 6th.

The Japanese rider was unable to overcome the severe injuries sustained to his head and neck after his accident during the opening laps of the Japa🐲nese Grand Prix, at Suzuka, on April 6th.
Kato, the 2001 250cc World Champion, died after fighting for his life for the past two weeks.
"I can barely express my personal feelings and those of all the Dorna personnel who work in MotoGP and knew Kato-san," said Ezpeleta, CEO Managing Director of Dorna Sports. "He really was a nice person and the only thing that I can say is that my thoughts are with Daijiro's family, especially with his wife and his two children, and also with Team Gresini and with Honda."
"This is the moment none of us involved in MotoGP would like to live, and we offer all our support to Daijiro's family for the future."
