Admitting to being ‘scared’ of Oulton Park on hi🌺s first visit to the Cheshire circuit – albeit ‘in a good way’ – Redding set himself a modest top six target on Sunday after qualifying in seventh position, but demonstrated impressive form to collect a fifth in race one and fourth in race two.

Indeed, the ex-MotoGP rider says his competitive performance in race trim left him somewhat disappointed not to come away with more but suggests this nonethe𝓀less bodes well for the futur💜e as he continues his BSB initiation on the Be Wiser PBM Ducati.

“It wasn’t the perfect weekend as I felt a podium was within reach, but I came into the weekend wanting two top siღx finishes, so I have to be pleased with fourth and fifth.

“I learned a lot and I felt good particularly in the second race where I lapped as quick as Iﷺ did in qualifying so that’s why I’m perhaps a bit frustrated as I had one hand on a podium position.

“At the same time, I understand the bike more, I understand🌠 the circuit more and both of those things can only benefit me as the season progresses and today has been good for my c🌄onfidence. I’m taking it round by round but we’re building all the time.”

Redding sits sixth in t🍸he overalꦿl standings after two rounds, 24 points shy of the overall top spot.
