Colin Turkington has snatched a record-equalling fourth British Touring Car Championship title in dramatic fashion after Dan Cammish crashed out of a cha💯mpionship winning position with less than two-laps to go, while Jason Plato won the season finale at Brands Hatch📖.

Turkington went into the final race of the season 8-points behind Honda's Dan Cammish in the drivers' standings, but finished in sixth to 𒊎win the 2019 title by just points ahead of BMW team mate Andrew Jordan and Cammish.

For much of the final race, the 2019 title looke🐷d to be heading the way of Cammish, who was sitting firmly in the top-ten behind the Ford Focus of Ollie Jackson.

However, Turkington, having fought his way up f🐻rom 25th, passed Cammish on lap 12, with Tom Ingr♕am also following the BMW through, which demoted the Honda driver down to ninth.

That left Cammish vulnerable to the chasing pack, which was led by the Mercedes A-Class of Adam Morgan in tenth position. Although Turkington bolted away from his title rival after passinওg Jackson for sixth position, Cammish was still in a champio🌟nship winning position in ninth with two laps.

But in a scarcely believable moment of high drama, Cammish careered💯 into the tyre-wa𒀰ll at high speed at Hawthorn corner on the penultimate lap of the race, handing the championship to Turkington and Team BMW.

Turkington's fourth title in the series equals Andy Rouse's all-timeꩵ d𒀰rivers' title record.

Asidꦯe from a dramatic conclusion to this season's championship battle, two-time champion Plato finally took his first win of the year with Power Maxed Racing after taking a dominant race three victory ahead of Rory Butch𝕴er.

Ashley Sutton fꦏinished on the podium in third, while fourth position for Jordan saw the 2013 BTCC champion fall just two-points short of claiming the title.

Josh Cook w🎃as fifth f𒅌or BTC Racing, ahead of Turkington, who retained his drivers' crown in sixth position.
