Citing the need for further testing of its standing-start procedure🀅s, the Champ Car W♉orld Series has announced that it would not use standing starts for the first three races of the 2007 season.

Although all teams and drivers have attempted the 'new' procedure during pre-season testing at Sebring, MSR Houston and Lagun💛a Seca, series officials decided that more time was needed to perfect the change fro𝐆m Champ Car's traditional rolling start format.

"Safety is our concern and we feel we need to fine-tune our standing start process before we implement it," said VP of operations Tony Cotman, "We will continue to work with the teams and the manufacturers to find the safest an🙈d most reliable option for the standing start process with an eye toward using them at Portland if possible."

The supporting Champ Car Atlantic Championship adopted standing starts last season, introducing t🌳h🔯em in Cleveland after extensive testing to ensure safety for all.
